I had a great day yesterday. I drove into to Patterdale (near Ullswater) from the North as Kirkstone pass was apparently closed due to the snow. I decided to walk the Deepdale Horseshoe. Starting at Patterdale, heading up to Fairfield over the top of St Sunday Crag and back down Hartsop.

There were only a few people out but I could make out a few teams on Striding Edge in distance. I wonder how they all got on as it was very windy at times on tops. The combination of wind and deep powder snow made it hard going in places. Snowshoes would have been a good choice!
