Southern sandstone is an esoteric collection of crags around the Kent and East Sussex area. The area has a rather mixed reputation among UK climbers which I think, despite some shortcomings, is rather unjustified.

The vast expanses of desert, crags, boulders and Yucca’s, which make up the 1200+ square mile realm that is Joshua Tree National Park are home to some of the finest rock climbs in North America, and being a mere 3 hour drive from the easily accessible Los Angeles International Airport, makes this a viable destination for climbers worldwide.

This guide will make a difference, but possibly not for the unadventurous. There definitely ain't any fish & chips, full english or Watneys Red Barrel in this essentially rural region of northern Spain.
