For climbing hard sport routes I was after a harness that was going to be really streamline and lightweight. I wasn’t necessarily expecting such a harness to be particularly comfortable when hanging on the rope for longer periods, and wanted something that I would hardly be aware I was wearing and wouldn’t restrict my movement - something perfect for hard red-points and on-sights. The Wild Country Elite Ultralite harness fulfilled all the above criteria, and as an added bonus turned out to be pretty comfy (whilst loaded and unloaded) as well, actually competing well with some of the much bulkier, more heavily padded harnesses currently on offer.

This is the first harness I have had in a while that hasn’t had adjustable leg loops. In the past I’ve favoured fully adjustable harnesses, so that I can get the leg loops to fit just right, although the clever use of the elastic "shrink-to-fit tags" on the Ultralite means that the leg loops fit perfectly, and are actually now more comfy than my well used fully adjustable harness. I now feel so happy with this harness that it has now become my harness of choice for instructing, where I spend long periods of time wearing my harness, walking around in it, but not actually weighting it. After a while you actually forget you have it on.
